The new Intel processor costs much more than you can afford
If you're still saving to get the new Intel Core 9, you'll be glad to know that there's a new processor that's 10 times more expensive.
The new series Intel Xeon Skylake-SP Platinum is not a processor for all budgets, since it is priced at $ 13,000. For that price, you get 28 cores, 56 threads, a turbo clock speed of 3.6GHz and an energy consumption of 205W.
Those are the specifications of the most powerful processor, the 8180M, which is designed to run intensive processes in graphics and business workloads. Although you would like to use it on a normal PC, it is not optimized for the applications normally used by a normal user, so you would not notice a big improvement.
Of course, there are some more affordable options. The cheapest model of this Platinum series chip comes for $ 3,200, and gives you 16 cores at a clock speed of 2.6GHz.
That's the kind of processor you could find on a high-end PC workstation, or possibly the future Apple Mac Pro and iMac Pro
